How to Get Rid of Ants
Updated: Mar 12, 2019
The Ant Invasion
There are over 10,000 species of known ants in the world! Some queen ants can live for many years and have millions of babies.
When the queen of the colony dies, the colony can only survive a few months. Queens are rarely replaced and the workers are not able to reproduce.
The most common in South Florida include Argentine ants, Big-Headed ants, Carpenter ants, Fire ants and Ghost ants. They find their way into your home and if not taken care of properly can make your home theirs.
What can you do?
The best defense against these home invaders is a clean home. Sweep up food crumbs, wipe up spills, take out the garbage, and don't leave dirty dishes sitting around the house. This takes away the ants' food source. Spray vinegar mixed with water around bowls of pet food to keep ants from feasting there.
