Pest Control: An Essential Service during Crisis
On of March 19, 2020, The Department of Homeland Security issued a memorandum declaring exterminators an essential service (See Memo HERE /Pg 4 “Public Works”). The importance of this declaration is to provide guidance for any and all of Florida's 410 municipalities when they begin to advance their individual contagion intervention plans as to what services and functions must continue during various stages of contagion response.
“Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation and essential operation of residences” have a responsibility to maintain their normal work schedule.
In an effort to help contain the spread of COVID-19, we have taken measures to ensure the safety of our customers and technicians during this unprecedented time. We will continue serving our communities in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. (See The Importance of Pest Control and COVID-19)
The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. Since social distancing is crucial at this time, we are servicing property perimeters unless otherwise requested by our customers. The safety of our customers and technicians is of the upmost importance. Please follow CDC Guidelines at this time (HERE)
